The Reality
Strays in Greece
There are millions of stray dogs in Greece. Municipal governments are responsible for managing stray animals within their communities, but many areas do not have sufficient shelter space, funding or organised neutering programs.
Without these essential services, stray populations continue to grow, creating severe overcrowding, limited access to medical treatment and unnecessary suffering for vulnerable animals.
A Growing Animal Welfare Crisis
More shelters, responsible neutering programs, medical support and community involvement are urgently needed to create lasting change.
